SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – May 9, 2014 – Washakie Renewable Energy®, the largest producer of Biodiesel in the intermountain west, is proud to announce that the company will award the Washakie Renewable Energy Applied Science Scholarship to two local high school graduates.

The recipients, Brandon Pace and Lillie Swallow, are graduates of Bear River High School and will receive their awards of $1,000 at the Bear River High School Awards Assembly held May 10th at the high school auditorium. Both students will attend Utah State University to pursue their degrees.

Jacob Kingston, PhD, CEO of Washakie Renewable Energy commented, “We are proud to support the continued education of these outstanding students and their pursuit of careers in applied science and renewable energy.”

The scholarship was created by Jacob Kingston. Kingston attended Bear River High School and later graduated from the University of Utah with a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering.

The Washakie Renewable Energy Applied Science Scholarship will be offered to students at Bear River High School again next year. Awardees are selected based on student applications, an interest in applied science and renewable energy, and demonstrated academic achievement. Interested students should contact their career counselor at the high school.
